Kat Davila is a Seattle-based writer, director, and cinematographer whose work is defined by academic rigor and technical command. A graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in English and a Certificate in Screenwriting, Kat bridges narrative theory with professional execution. Her technical pedigree was forged as a Cinematography Apprentice for the Northwest Film Forum's Action! Narrative Apprenticeship Program and further refined through the ASC Masterclass under the instruction of Autumn Durald Arkapaw, ASC, James Laxton, ASC, and Magdalena Górka, ASC.
As a former Screenwriting Manager and Pre-Production Manager at Dhar Mann Studios, Kat spearheaded the narrative infrastructure for one of the world's most-watched digital platforms. She commanded a high-output portfolio of 100+ short films, scaling storytelling to a global audience of over 50 million followers and contributing to the studio’s 2021 Shorty Award for Best YouTube Presence. Collaborating directly with high-profile influencers and a robust production team, she managed the rapid-response development of 5–6 films per week, bridging the gap between viral digital content and professional cinematic standards.
Her broadcast expertise includes cinematography and camera operator credits for the Emmy/Telly-winning PBS series Look, Listen and Learn, notably featuring former Seahawks & NFL athlete Tyler Lockett.
Kat has transitioned into high-stakes narrative filmmaking. She is currently scaling her directorial vision through the 2026 festival circuit with her thriller shorts, Vile and Family Photos. Kat is currently based in Los Angeles as an AFI Directing Fellow, Class of 2028
